HAAM To Benefit From Marcia Ball's Great Big Birthday Bash

ImageAustin, TX -- Health Alliance for Austin Musicians and Sweet Home New Orleans will both benefit from the three-day Valentine's Weekend event at Antone's that will mark the 60th birthday of Austin's own keyboard queen, Marcia Ball, including Friday and Saturday nights shows with Ball and some of her closest musical friends and a Sunday brunch with a simultaneous performance by five piano players.

Marcia Ball's Great Big Birthday Bash at Antone's starts at 8 p.m. Friday, February 13, with a Rocking Voodoo Party featuring three of Louisiana's finest GRAMMY Award-nominated bands: Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys, Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie, and Sonny Landreth.

The weekend event continues on Saturday, February 14, with a Valentine's Sweetheart Ball and shows at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. with Angela Strehli, Maria Muldaur, Tracy Nelson, Lavelle White, Lou Ann Barton, Sarah Brown and Ball performing songs they've recorded together and separately and new material as well.

The Pianorama Brunch, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., is set to be a piano throw-down featuring Floyd Domino, Johnny Nicholas, Nick Connolly, Riley Osborne and Ball playing simultaneously on five keyboards, plus other piano players joining in and a special unannounced guest appearance by a singer from Fort Worth.

VIP tickets are $100 per show for Friday and Saturday, with a reserved chair at a table for four, and include party favors and a meet-and-greet with the artists before the shows. Sam Moore Set To Perform At Inaugural Ball With Sting & Elvis Costello

ImagePhoenix, Arizona - Sam Moore best known as the trademarkable lead voice of the most successful and critically acclaimed soul duo in music history, Sam & Dave, will take to the field on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, where he will perform a the 20th Annual Insight Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona and be broadcast on the NFL Network.  The Insight Bowl will face-off with hard-hitting on-field action the Kansas Jayhawks and Minnesota Golden Gophers.

After the game and as we head into the new year, Sam Moore will pack his bags, once again, and head to Washington, D.C. where he will perform at The Creative Coalition's Inaugural Ball to commemorate the Presidential Inauguration.  The festivities will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at The Harman Center for the Arts. Moore will be joined by his special guest Sting who''d recorded with Moore on his 2007 Grammy nominated "Overnight Sensational" album.  Elvis Costello, their announced headliner, who rose to fame with a cover of a Sam and Dave hit "I Can''t Stand Up for Falling Down"  has performed with Moore at London''s prestigious Royal Albert Hall. The Ball is a benefit gala for The Creative Coalition (the nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) advocacy arm of the arts and entertainment communities).

About Sam Moore:

Moore is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Grammy Hall of Fame (for 'Soul Man') and a Grammy Award and a multi-Gold and Platinum recording artist. Moore also has achieved a distinguished 25 year career as a solo artist.  He also paired with the late Conway Twitty to record the classic 'Rainy Night In Georgia' for the classic Rhythm, Country and Blues Album, appeared as The Reverend Morris in Blues Brothers 2000 playing opposite James Brown's character, a 'Swanky Mode' in Tapeheads and was featured prominently in the documentary 'Only The Strong Survive'.  His 2006 album "Overnight Sensational" found him singing with more than 25 guest peers who admit to being fans including Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, Paul Rodgers, Vince Gill, Wynonna, and the late Billy Preston.

3 Doors Down To Perform During Halftime At Arizona Cardinals vs Atlanta Falcons NFC Wildcard Playoff

(Nashville, TN ' December 29th, 2008) Universal Republic juggernaut 3 Doors Down is set to bring their chart-topping success to 1 Cardinals Way for halftime of the NFC wildcard playoff game. The Atlanta Falcons will meet the Cardinals for Arizona's home-field playoff advantage, the first in sixty-one years. Game day is Saturday, January 3rd. The Mississippi/Nashville rockers are set to take over the University of Phoenix stadium to entertain a capacity crowd of 63,000 NFL fans in Glendale, Arizona next weekend.

In addition to the halftime performance, lead singer Brad Arnold will be singing the National Anthem to commence the NFC match up.

3 Doors Down has appeared at a number of NFL, MLB, NASCAR and other sporting events, entertaining audiences around the globe.

They will also be continuing their nationwide tour in early 2009. T Bird And The Breaks CD Release Party To Be Held At Historic Victory Grill

ImageAustin, TX -- Raw, ripping, rhythm-and-blues band T Bird and the Breaks will release their debut album of originals, LEARN ABOUT IT, nationally in January but will preview it in Austin at a special CD Release show next month.

T Bird and the Breaks play their special Austin CD Release Show at midnight Friday, December 12, at the history-packed Victory Grill, 1104 E. 11th St. Cover is $10; information: 512.902.5057. Doors open at 9 p.m. Greyhounds play at 10 p.m.

T Bird and the Breaks' debut, LEARN ABOUT IT, whose street date is Jan. 27, 2009, proves in songs such as "Juice" and "Blackberry Brandy" that Crane and company have a firm grasp of the timeless qualities of early-'60s through late-'70s rhythm & blues and soul. Theirs is an infectious sound, with an elemental beat, talkative horns and soulful vocals.
