Americana Artist James Hyland To Release New Album In September Wednesday, 18 August 2010 16:08 Austin, TX — Americana artist James Hyland, who spent 10 years fronting the acclaimed South Austin Jug Band, resumes his solo career with the release of his album, CELESTIAL NAVIGATION, on September 14. Hyland plays a CD Release Show at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, September 18, at Threadgill’s World Headquarters, 301 W. Riverside Drive. Cover is $10; information: 512.472.9304. Fiddler Warren Hood opens the show at 9 p.m. Backing Hyland, his vocals and acoustic guitar on the new album are Jug Band players Dennis Ludiker on fiddles, Willie Pipkin on electric guitar, drummers/percussionists Rob Hooper and Robb Kidd, and honorary Jug Band member Kim Deschamps on steel guitar and Dobro (Blue Rodeo, Charlie Robison’s Enablers, Cowboy Junkies’ classic THE TRINITY SESSIONS) as well as such top Austin players as bassist Chris Maresh, fiddler Warren Hood, organ/piano player Chip Dolan and guitar player Stephen Doster, who also produced the album.

George Jones To Be Inducted Into Texas Country Music Hall Of Fame Wednesday, 18 August 2010 15:21 Nashville, TN – George  Jones alongside Al Dexter and Ray Winkler will be inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame on August 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Theater.  This year’s special guest performer will be Mel Tillis and the Statesiders. Also performing will be the Justin Trevino Band featuring Tony Booth, Georgette Jones, Frankie Miller, Darryl McCall, Mona McCall, Amber Digby and Curtis Potter.  The legendary Ralph Emery will host the event.
