Once the word got out that Ready In 10 was on the voter’s poll for August, their fans came out in droves and kept them in the number one spot for the entire month. It was the second time the band has shown a powerful presence in Austin, the first time was at the prestigious Red Gorilla Music Fest in 2009 where the band made a strong showing and picked up even more fans during their performances. The Long Island band is the result of the vision of the two founders and friends since childhood, Sal Nastasi and Marc Viola who started out with a passion for 90’s rock and tight vocal harmonies and later combined that with a penchant for songwriting that has propelled their sound to a new sphere. Gradually they moved from working as an acoustic duo in coffee shops and small venues doing cover tunes to a full blown power rock group that includes fellow musicians Mike Elafonte on bass and Mike Moore on drums.
Their blistering guitar riffs and thunderous rhythm along with the soaring vocals from Nastasi is what has been attracting the crowds and building their fan base. And to top all that off, their hearts are as big as their talent. Ready In 10 has been involved in numerous charity events and has raised huge amounts of money for several organizations. In 2008 they gathered corporate sponsors and local Long Island businesses in an effort to raise funds for Ride for Life, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease. By selling CD’s and performing three concerts throughout the campaign the band raised thousands of dollars and will continue working with Ride for Life as they move toward finding a cure for ALS. More recently, Ready In 10 was a featured act in the 2009 Helping Hands Telethon held at Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. The telethon, which raised well over $100,000 for their cause, was aired on FOX’s regional network and reached about 13 million households state-wide. The band is travelling the countryside promoting their latest release, “31 Strong” and from all indications, it’s a bonafide hit. They snagged it from a Chinese restaurant menu that promised quick delivery and when it comes to fantastic sound, Ready In Ten does just that.
